100 Million People To Migrate To Mobile Gambling, By 2018
Mobile Casinos Expected to Get 100 Million New Customers over the Next Five Years
The mobile casino industry appears to be growing at a fast pace. A recent study conducted by Juniper Research shows that 100 million people will join the ranks of mobile gamblers during the next five years. The report estimates that by 2018, 164 million people around the world will have gambled and bet through their mobile phones or tablets.
Another key driver in the rapid growth of mobile casino games is the soon to be open market in the US. With mobile casinos likely to appear in early 2014, the experts at Juniper Research believe that the recent legislative changes will lead to an accelerated growth and development of mobile casinos across the United States. A previous report showed that revenue from mobile gambling in US would surpass $100 billion by 2017.
More and more customers expect to be able to access their favorite online casinos directly from their mobile devices and this has led to a continuous development in the mobile gambling sector. Whether we’re talking about mobile sports betting, playing at online casinos or buying lottery tickets directly from your phone, the numbers are expected to reach new highs over the next five years.
Researcher Sian Rowlands, author of the report, believes mobile gambling is much more convenient than using a desktop PC or laptop. “As a result of this, gambling operators have been required to shift the nature of their organization away from ‘legacy’ services such as telephone betting towards becoming a more mobile-oriented company, with the aim of achieving over half of their online revenues from mobile in the next 1-3 years,” she added.
