As expected, Apple has unveiled its new iPad mini tablet at the super media event in San Jose, California. The new Apple boss, Tim Cook, made a presentation resembling the late Steve Jobs. As Jobs used to do it, Cook started with describing how good and groundbreaking his company and its products were and are.
Then came the astonishing numbers: about 200 million gadgets run on iOS6, the operation system the iPad mini uses. In just one second, 28,000 iMessages are sent.
The Mac market has been overgrowing the PC one for six consecutive years. App Store has 35 billion downloads. 6.5 billion dollars have been paid to app developers. There are 275 thousand apps designed and developed especially for iPads. And there are just over 100 million Apple iPads sold worldwide.
After the usual boasting, Apple’s senior vice president for worldwide marketing, Phil Schiller, showed the world the device everyone had been waiting for, the iPad mini. Schiller described the product: “This is not just a shrunken down iPad. There’s nothing as amazing as this.”

He started with the most important thing: the 7.9 inch iPad mini is small enough to be held in just one hand. Now this is something crucial for online gamblers. The starting price of the iPad mini will be $329. Apple begins taking orders for it on Friday, October 26.
