Android and Sprint Market Share Increase in the United States
US market shares
Android OS and Samsung smartphones are still enjoying growth on the US market according to the latest report.
It seems there’s no stopping the Android OS advancement. As the latest Kantar Worldpanel ComTech report suggests, the little green man’s market share in the US has increased 5.8 percent year-on-year. Android is the OS of choice for 51.2% of all mobile casino players in America, while iOS share has declined 3.5%, and Windows Phone has grown to 4.1% of the market.
The report also features data on the US wireless carriers, who sell mobile casino games tools. Sprint enjoyed a 15% increase in its market share, however, the carrier is still in third spot overall. Verizon is leading the way with over 35% of smartphone sales in the country, while AT&T is second losing out around 4% of its share in the course of 1 year.
As for the Android casino devices – Samsung Galaxy S III is the most popular smartphone with over 52% of total Samsung sales, while the previous flagship – Galaxy S II – is still going strong accounting for 21% of all sales. The second gen phoneblet, Galaxy Note II, is on the decline and now represents only 5% of the total Samsung sales in the US.
The main factors behind Samsung’s success are the cost of its devices and widespread availability, while Sprint’s upward movement was backed by smartphone price drops.
