The patent wars between Apple and Samsung have caused the Cupertino company to seek a new manufacturer for its chipsets.

The latest chit-chat brings the news that Apple has finally found a replacement manufacturer and will break the ties with Samsung for the chipset production. The newest iPad casino tools are powered by quad-core A6X chipsets, currently produced by the Korean giant.

Rumors suggest the chipset production will move to TSMC – Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. The company is the world’s largest independent producer of semiconductors, and thus unaffected by the ongoing row between Apple and Samsung.

The patent wars between the two giants aren’t doing anyone any good, mobile casino games fans are also involved, considering the innovation is hindered by the legal battles, resulting in slower updates and delayed product introductions.

TSMC is expected to begin trial manufacturing of the iPad mobile gambling chipsets as early as Q1 this year, and based on the results Apple will decide if they are switching from Samsung or not.

There are also suggestions that the Cupertino company will soon be moving to TSMC’s 20nm production process, meaning the new chipsets or the ones in the pipeline will be manufactured using that process.
