Tabcorp, an Australian company responsible for supplying the country with gambling and wagering solutions, has set its eyes on the world of mobile casinos.
Tabcorp managing director and chief executive Elmer Funke Kupper says the group has noticed a huge surge in the popularity of and demand for mobile gambling solutions, and is urging the company to move in a direction that would allow them to increase their online presence, and to move into the mobile casino industry.
Their foray into mobile phone gambling began a few months ago when they launched an iPhone gambling app called TAB Sportsbet, which has already been downloaded by more than 100,000 users. In light of this success, the group intends to branch out in the mobile betting industry, and possibly to offer iPhone and iPad casinos as well.
“Those investments will put Tabcorp at the forefront of the wagering technology on the internet and mobile devices and will allow us to compete with the best operators in the world,” Funke Kupper said.
Tabcorp also plans to give their internet gambling offerings an upgrade, with complete rebuild scheduled for some time in the next 12 months.

I think I’d rather bet on Tabcorp turning a profit than on you beating their House. :-p
