BlackBerry London – RIM’s Dim Chance of Staying Alive
BlackBerry London
RIM is planning to change its BBX platform by combining QNX with BlackBerry OS to offer mobile gamers more possibilities.
Not the best of times for the Canadian smartphone company, but not the worst either. First there were rumors of management problems at RIM, then came the infamous messaging service outage.
Now the keys to the restroom are missing. But RIM is keeping its spirits high, and has finally started ‘thinking outside the Box’ by taking the soon to be released BBX platform and spicing it with the BlackBerry OS glued to the QNX.
The first smartphone from RIM featuring the new OS has been photographed and the photos splashed all over a new mobile casino forum. The first smartphone with BBX is code-named London and will probably become BlackBerry’s new flagship in 2012.
Fans of BlackBerry casinos are rumored to be able to enjoy a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP CPU inside the upcoming beast. 1GB or RAM and 16GB of internal memory are a nice addition to the powerhouse as well. What’s more interesting is the rumor that the device will actually be thinner than the iPhone 4S turning some die-hard Apple fans green with envy.
The 8MP snapper on the back coupled with 2MP on the front are a nice combination, which will prove useful to BlackBerry gambling fans wishing to share their mobile jackpot winning joy with immediate family members over video chatting.
A semi-official confirmation has been heard online that the BlackBerry London is in fact planned and will probably hit the stores in Q3 2012. That’s definitely a long time for BlackBerry mobile gambling fans to wait, but let’s hope that the new device is worth it.

There’s too much in terms of rumor and not enough fact from RIM at this point. I doubt they will wait beyond Q1 2012 to release a QNX based BBX phone. They are too far behind as it stands.
