Legal mobile sportsbooks are fairly successful in the state of Nevada with multiple mobile sportsbook software developers launching improved mobile betting apps.

Leroy’s sportsbook, a subsidiary of American Wagering Corporation, is in the process of testing a custom, in-house built sports betting application, for the Android powered handhelds. Wagering via Leroy’s mobile sportsbook software will be limited to Nevada State residents.

They are sure to enjoy the convenience and comfort of placing bets from virtually anywhere within the state at anytime they want. While mobile sportsbooks are permitted under state law, mobile casinos are still illegal in Nevada primarily because of strong opposition from Las Vegas traditional casinos.

Leroy’s entry into Nevada’s mobile sports betting market was approved by the state Gaming Control Board. After enjoying success with a similar application for the BlackBerry platform, the company moved forward with the development and testing of the Android software.

In accordance with the Nevada gambling regulation, independent field trials are being conducted, and all data, logs and results will be submitted to state regulators.

Bob Kocienski, American Wagering Chief Operating Officer, commented – “The addition of the Android platform is a significant step forward in our strategic plan to become the clear leader in the mobile gaming sector.” Android casinos and sportsbooks have become the fastest growing sector of the rapidly expanding mobile gambling market.

The new mobile sportsbook app provides identical functionality of Leroy’s online sportsbook, offering multiple betting options on a diverse number of sporting events, live betting and unusual contests. Punters can enjoy the excitement of placing live bets on their favorite sporting event while actually being at the game.

Betting through mobile phones, pagers and home computers is allowed in Nevada, as long as it’s done through private computer networks which don’t cross state lines. Field trials include GPS geo-location tests to verify the software’s ability to prevent placing bets outside of the state lines.
