According to the latest casino gambling news in South Korea, a particular group of gamblers has been caught, while an international scandal emerged.

Not that these were some criminals wagering stakes among themselves from the money just stolen from an infant orphan charity. Quite to the contrary, these were men of religion, the Buddhist monks. At least, not in this lifetime.

Although this incident doesn’t help in maintaining Buddhism’s high esteem, it will not demolish this great and thousands of years old religion and philosophy. And the truth is: even the monks have their needs. However, this is not the only scandal involving Korean monks.

In the recent past there were corruption scandals. Finances in the Buddhist orders are tightly controlled and the monks seek other ways to satisfy their earthly needs.
