Dennis Nash from Winnipeg, won more than C$8 million from Canadian Lotto 649 on December 28.

The lucky guy is one of the two winners who split more than C$16 million, the other ticket was bought in Calgary. Nash commented that he doesn’t have any major plans how to spend his money yet, but he definitely will need some smart strategies, as the amount is more than impressive.

Still, some of his plans include paying off his debts, helping out his family and close friends and taking a trip to a warmer destination. His wishes are not surprising, having in mind that the temperatures in Winnipeg reach -30C in the winter.

Persistence always wins

For the blessed ticket Nash used the same combination of lucky numbers and dates that he inherited from his father. The morning after he bought the ticket, he called to check the winning tickets. “The first three sounded familiar. Then I started comparing and realized that the first five numbers matched,” he remembered. Only after he was sure that all numbers matched, he allowed himself to get excited.

That is not his first succeed as Nash was also lucky last February when he won the significantly more modest amount of C$2,200. As casinos and online blackjack are allowed in Canada, Nash may win even more in the future, given his luck so far.
