Canadian Tech Firm Amaya Taps Goldstein As New Exec
Marlon Goldstein, formerly of Greenberg Traurig’s gaming practice, hired to be new executive vice-president among other roles.
Online game developer and operator Amaya Gaming has appointed Marlon Goldstein its new executive vice-president as well as corporate development and general counsel. Goldstein will assume the role on January 24, prior to which he will serve the company as a consultant.
He previously made a name for himself as a principle shareholder at the international law firm Greenberg Traurig. During this time he was co-chair of the company’s gaming practice, a team of lawyers which represented various companies throughout the gambling industry.
While not making headlines in the casino news like high-profile figures such as Sheldon Adelson, Goldstein is one of the most respected men in the industry.
A strong hire for a respected firm
Amaya has established a strong reputation on both sides of the Atlantic as an excellent company employing nothing but smart strategies. 2013 proved to be an exceptionally good year for them, with revenue markedly higher than during the year prior. New Jersey’s legalization of online casinos last year created new demand for their services.
Amaya CEO David Baazov lauded Goldstein’s interdisciplinary expertise: ” With his strong background in gaming, governance, finance and M&A, Marlon has the experience and expertise to oversee our legal team and help us achieve our corporate objectives.”
