Chinese High-Roller Ordered Not to Leave the Philippines
Shocking case involves Chinese mystery man and car full of powerful weapons.
A Chinese gambler who brought grenades and a machine gun to the Resort World Manila casino was ordered not to leave the country. Jerry Sy’s car was searched after a scuffle with casino security. The search revealed an arsenal of weapons, including a machine gun, grenades, five pistols, silencers, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a small quantity of illegal drugs.
Sy has not cooperated with authorities and his motives are not known. He is known as an aficionado of casino strategy. One Manila policeman also stated that he is connected with an organized crime ring.
Conflicting stories and rumors abound
Regardless of the purpose behind the altercation, the man Sy scuffled with at the casino asked for attempted murder charges to be rescinded, calling the incident a “misunderstanding.” Other reports have called the arrest a Sy a “frame up.”
It seems that no one knows-or is willing to tell-who exactly Sy is and what his purpose in the Philippines is. One policeman even stated that Sy carries no passport and there is no official record of him entering the country. All of the mystery seems to stem from a smart strategy, as action cannot be taken against Sy until more information is found.
