Favourit Launches IOS Social Sports Betting Application

Favourit is offering rich features through new mobile app.
Although Australia may be a source of mobile gambling news less often than some other regions, innovative ideas do come from Down Under fairly regularly. Very often these initiatives explore the opportunities that come from merging social gaming and gambling.
It is the same with Favourit, the Australian company describing itself as the ‘Facebook for the sports betting world’, which has launched a new mobile sports betting application for iOS.
The Aussies are keeping a tight schedule, considering that they kicked off in August, offering a live sports social and gaming experience online, as well as mobile devices.
Since the company is not licensed to offer sports betting services, the latest Favourit iOS app won’t really facilitate iPhone or iPad gambling either. As with the company’s other platforms, all betting is done in virtual currency.
On the other hand, Favourit also provides the opportunity to wager real money through betting partners Paddy Power, Sportsbet and Luxbet.
Features in the new app include live scores, expert analyses and a TipTracker that follows global betting trends. Considering the social aspects, the app will also connect to Favourit’s own BetIQ system, which evaluates the punters’ bids over 30 days to create automatic rankings among the players.
According to CEO Toby Simmons, “sports are about bringing people together to have fun, compete and win.”
“Social media platforms have changed the way we communicate on so many levels and Favourit harnesses those capabilities for sports fans to give them a revolutionary new way to discuss their teams, see the latest trends and stats from experts and place virtual or real bets to increase the excitement of following the sports they love. While there’s nothing better for sports fans, this is also the future for sports betting operators.”
Building on success at home, the company is now planning an international expansion.
