A Japanese gambling fugitive has been arrested in Malabon
The latest casino gambling news from Manila has reported that a Japanese national, who is wanted for running and illegal gambling operation back home in Japan, has been arrested in Malabon City, in the Philippines.
Takashui Kumamoto was arrested recently at his home in Barangay Tugatug, according to the Philippines’ Bureau of Immigration. He is reportedly wanted in Japan for his smart strategies used in masterminding an illegal gambling operation that was going rather successfully for the Japanese man.
A commissioner for the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines, Ricardo David Junior, recently commented that “he is the latest addition to our long list of arrested foreign fugitives. And like those who were caught before him, he will be deported, blacklisted and banned from re-entering our country.”
Whilst it is unclear how long Takashui Kumamoto had been residing in the country, it is very clear who has initiated the order for his arrest.
Mr. David Junior, the commissioner added that he himself had issued the warrant for Mr. Kumamoto’s arrest after the Japanese Embassy in Manila, and Interpol in Japan had requested that he do so.
The Japanese issued a warrant for Mr. Kumamoto’s arrest last year on December 9th but he skipped the country before it could be carried out. Now that he is again in custody, Mr. Kumamoto is believed to be due to stand trial in Kanazawa City in Japan soon.
Mr. Kumamoto has been formally charged with operating an illegal gambling scheme, using his own home as his base of criminal activity, in Kaga City, Ishikawa, Japan for just two days in October last year. Although the scheme reportedly took place over the results of professional basketball games, other
