IGT looks towards Mobile Casino Software growth
Future of IGT

IGT, a leading manufacturer of traditional casino games is looking forward toward the future growth of the mobile casino game market.

On January 19, the CEO of International Game Technology (IGT), Patti Hart expressed confidence in the company’s direction and applauded the growth of the online and mobile casino software market. IGT views the phenomenal growth of the mobile smartphone technology not as a threat but an opportunity to embrace the future. While the slots, poker games and other devices that occupy the floors of traditional casinos require warehouses, onsite maintenance and inventory, the same games on a mobile phone requires none of those variable and fixed costs.

IGT, according to mobile gambling news claims to not being afraid of the growth of the mobile industry and are looking forward to expanding their brand through tactical acquisitions and mergers. IGT is on the hunt for bargains at a good price and the field is ripe with developers in need of capital. IGT has been slowly moving away from its traditional US casino market and as of January 2011, just 60% of its holdings involve the US market.

IGT has a firm hold over the casino game market as the majority of casinos use their equipment. IGT made its move into the online and mobile market with acquisition of WagerWorks, a leading developer of online and mobile casino games. Such tactical acquisitions will mark IGTs future penetration of the mobile market according to Wall St. analysts. Mrs. Patti Hart, during the same dialogue, expressed bullishness on the South and Central American markets which she felt will account for a large percentage of future mobile gamblers.
