Social Casino Studio Akamon Joins the International Social Games Association
Akamon Entertainment, the Spanish social and mobile casino studio, has become the latest company to join the newly formed International Social Games Association (ISGA). The association was formed in September this year, when the International Social Games Coalition and the Social Games Association joined forces.
Akamon have quickly established themselves as an innovative provider of social, mobile casino games, since they came into being in July 2011. They’ve been providing mainly for the Southern Europe and South American markets, but the company has plans to expand in the future.
The casino joins a list of social gaming and gambling luminaries as ISGA members. Zynga, Slingo, RocketPlay, Plumbee, Playtika, PlayStudios, MGM, IGT, Gamesys, Bally Technologies, Aristocrat, and Abzorba Games are the other members at the current time.
With mobile slots taking off big time over the past two years, the ISGA is sure to be busy, and Akamon’s chief executive Vicenc Marti was delighted to join the fledgling organization.
“As we grow into a business providing entertainment to millions of people around the world, we look forward to joining the ISGA’s efforts to educate regulators, policy makers and players about the value of social games,” he explained.
More companies are sure to join the group, that counts major players in the casino market such as MGM, IGT, Aristocrat, and Bally Technologies amongst its members. With the lines between social gaming and gambling blurring all the time, it remains to be seen what direction any link up will take.
