Microgaming online casino games can now be played on the Android v2.2 that is running Adobe Flash 10.1

On January 10, Microgaming announced that their entire package of online casino games has been released for the Androd v2.2 Froyo which must have Adobe Flash 10.1 installed. Microgaming mobile casino software consists of over 400 games including mobile blackjack and is currently being used by 117 casinos throughout the world.

Microgaming has an existing partnership with Spin3 through which their current mobile casino package is offered. Mike Hebden, Head of Casino for Microgaming explains that “this release for Android is complementary to our current relationship with Spin3.” Spin3 plans to release its own apps as part of its suite for Android.

Gartner Analysts research shows that Android is currently increasing its market share of the smartphone mobile operating system market and should reach 14% share by 2012. Gartner research also indicates that Android will become the market leader in smartphones OS by 2014, outperforming BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and iPhone. Android is the current operating system that comes preinstalled on Google Nexus One, Motorola Milestone 2 and HTC Desire. The interest around the new Android casino platform is massive, especially after their successful presentation at a recent industry trade show.

Developers of online mobile casinos software are scrambling to allocate resources towards the Android. Within the next six months there will be a number of new blackjack mobile casino games released which will be exclusively developed for the Android. The mobile casino market is expanding at 15% monthly, a much faster rate than the internet casino market. Market analysts predict that within the next five years the total number of mobile casino users will overtake the total number of traditional internet casino users.
