Mobile sports wagering to follow later in 2013.

Casino tourists traveling to The Bahamas can now look forward to spinning the mobile slots, trying their hands at video poker and even virtual table games anywhere at the Atlantis, Paradise Island casino resort, simply using their portable devices.

This aspiration has come true as a result of an agreement between Atlantis and the Nevada-based gambling technology and solutions provider Cantor Gaming.

Guests of the Atlantis are now able to use their iOS and Android phones and tablets to engage in these casino games, without the need to actually sit down at a table, if they download Cantor Gaming’s Cantor Mobile Casino app. This is the first time that mobile casino gambling has become legally available in The Bahamas.

Plans for later this year include the construction of a brand new, sophisticated sportsbook at the casino resort. At that point the palette of choices available to resort guests will also be complemented by mobile sports betting.

Cantor Gaming is experienced in the field of casino sports betting and mobile solutions, being the first company to have been issued a statewide mobile gaming system license by the Nevada Gaming Commission. They also operate sports betting facilities at eight casino resorts in Las Vegas.

Lee M. Amaitis, President and CEO of Cantor Gaming emphasized the significance of the deal. “We are delighted to bring a new wave of entertainment and innovation to the Bahamas as the first provider of mobile gaming in this region. We look forward to the launch of a new race and sports book for Atlantis,” said Amaitis.

The resort’s MD, George Markantonis also sounded a positive note, saying that Atlantis was “excited to partner with Cantor Gaming and to be exclusive providers of mobile gaming in the Bahamas.”

The service is accessible anywhere on the territory of the huge resort, allowing tourists to “spend time” at the casino virtually, even while eating at one of the restaurants, sitting by a pool or just walking around, waiting for family members to return from one of the many luxury boutiques or water adventures to be found at Atlantis.
