Cheating at the newly legalized blackjack tables in Pennsylvania’s casinos is becoming a new trend. The latest arrests took place just the other day in the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Two men were arrested for “capping” their bets – placing additional chips down on the table after the outcome of the hand has been established.

Tjandra M. Wijono, 56, was accused of capping four hands after the dealer went bust in an attempt to win more money. The dealer complained to security, who called the police. Security footage verified that Wijono had been cheating. He is being charged with four counts of fraudulent scheme.

The other cheater, Le Rain, 32, just capped one hand, but he was hardly subtle about it. Police allege he tried to drop a $500 chip on top of his original $50 bet after he was dealt blackjack. Rain is being charged with one count of theft.

Both men were released Wednesday on $5,000 bail, and face trial in a few weeks.

While it is difficult to successfully cheat at a blackjack table while being watched by dealers and security cameras, it is virtually impossible to cheat while playing online blackjack games. Capping simply cannot happen, since the game only lets players drop chips on the table at the appropriate time.
