More Confirmations of Nokia’s Plans to Launch a Lumia With 41MP Camera
Nokia Lumia EOS
The Guardian confirms rumors of an upcoming Nokia Lumia smartphone with a 41MP camera sensor.
When Nokia presented the 41 megapixel sensor back at the MWC 2012, the smartphone photo-shooting game was changed forever. Since then, the Finnish giant had a pretty decent success with the 808 PureView device, which led to rumors that the 41MP sensor might be making its way in the Lumia lineup of mobile casino tools, read more in our Nokia Plans to Include PureView Technology in their Lumia Smartphones article.
A recent report in the British daily newspaper The Guardian partially confirmed the rumors, and even suggested that the upcoming monster of a mobile casino games tamer will be named Lumia EOS. According to the same source the device with the 41MP camera will be launching in the USA sometime this summer.
The Lumia EOS is said to be able to capture still images of around 5MP resolution, thank to oversampling technology, just like the one included in the 808 PureView. This will give mobile gamblers something else to do besides enjoying mobile blackjack on their smartphones.
There is no other information about the upcoming device, and no real way to truly confirm the rumors, before Nokia makes it official. But we do hope for the best and expect Nokia to share this amazing technology with a wider range of smartphone owners.
The latest Nokia flagship, Lumia 920, features a floating lens technology which in essence is an optical image stabilization procedure – industry’s first inside a smartphone. Just think about what’s going to happen to smartphones if the two technologies will be combined in one smartphone!
