More WagerWorks Casino Games May Soon Go Mobile

A recent merger announcement points to the possibility that WagerWorks might soon be offering more mobile casino games.
WagerWorks is one of the world’s premier providers of online casino games. The group serves 50 casino operators with a library consisting of more than 100 titles in their portfolio, from online slots and video poker to roulette and blackjack card games.
WagerWorks is owned by International Game Technology (IGT), an NYSE listed company that specializes in producing video slot machines for land-based casinos. IGT’s other major online subsidiary is Million-2-1, one of the UK’s leading providers of mobile phone gambling services, mostly in the form of SMS prize competitions and mobile lotteries.
IGT announced yesterday that they will be merging WagerWorks with Million-2-1 into a single global interactive gambling division, to be headquartered in San Francisco, California.
“Merging our online and mobile business units under the IGT brand will solidify our position as a leader in interactive gaming,” said Gideon Bierer, IGT executive vice president. “In the last five years in the U.K. alone, we have handled more than $10 billion in online wagers and are currently processing more than 1.5 billion online transactions each year. As technology advances and markets evolve, we look forward to accelerating our product innovation and significantly growing our interactive business.”
WagerWorks already offers mobile casino games through sites such Blue Square Mobile Casino and Mecca Bingo Mobile, but this merger may herald the coming of more variety from the gambling software group. Given the state of the global mobile casino industry, recently estimated by the Association of British Bookmakers to be worth in the neighborhood of $1 trillion, it seems a fair assumption that IGT intends to expand further this lucrative sector.

The only problem I am having is the lack of decent Gaming titles in App store. It’s looking more and more necessary to jailbreak my iPod touch to be able to load decent casino games and poker on it.
I think I might need to jailbreak my iPad… a little worried about doing that… I’m not so technical… what if something goes wrong?

This is exactly my worry — if you jailbreak the device and something goes wrong, the warranty / guarantee is void. That’s a big concern.
