Niall McNamee Announced a Total Loss of EUR 200,000 in Gambling
Niall McNamee, Gaelic football player, proclaimed that he lost a total of EUR 200,000 while gambling.
This casino gambling news was posted in his latest blog post, where he gave details regarding different situations when his gambling addiction caused the loss of huge amounts of money. His problem left him with EUR 80,000 in debt when he decided to look for professional help in 2011.
McNamee’s biggest personal success in the last years is that he hadn’t applied any casino strategies and didn’t bet at all, proving that the addiction can be overcome.
He remembered: “I was roughly 15 meters from the exit. I looked to my right and there was another roulette table. Will I won’t I? One more won’t do any harm.”
The story continued tragically: “In one hour I was still there. After turning $100 into $6,000 earlier that night, I lost the $6,000 I had won, I took $1,000 from the bank machine, and I lost that as well. This resulted in me having to ring both my parents throughout the holiday to send me money because I had none left.”

He said: “I’m not doing this to try and have sensational stories for people. Anyone who suffers from this addiction will tell the exact same story, the time and place will be different but that sense of suffering and helplessness will be the same. So take strength from the fact that you’re not alone.”
