No Ice Cream Sandwich for LG Optimus 2X Gamers Say Korean Mob Bosses
No ICS LG Optimus 2X
The LG Optimus 2X will not be treated to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update says the official statement.
The mobile casinos gaming world was already shocked by the news that Google Nexus One will not receive the coveted new OS, read more in our (Mobile Gamers Rampage As Google Nexus Denied Android Ice Cream Sandwich). But now, the world’s first smartphone with a dual-core CPU, the LG Optimus 2X, will also have to live without the Ice Cream Sandwich.
A curious regular of Android casinos has recently asked the official Facebook page of LG if the highly popular device will be lucky enough to get the new OS. Here’s what the company had to say: “We will not be introducing Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich updates on LG Optimus 2X P990. Keep watching this space for further updates.”
The answer was later deleted from the news feed, but we’re betting it was a defensive measure in response to the thousands of angry messages from fans of mobile casino games. Naturally no confirmation nor an understandable reason has been given for why the LG Optimus 2X (mind you a much younger fella, than the beardy Nexus One) can’t enjoy Android 4.0.
Surely it’s not the hardware issue, as what seems to be the problem with the first Googlephone. The LG device packs the NVIDIA Tegra dual-core CPU, which is one of the most powerful smartphone powerhouses to date.
Just a quick reminder: the Optimus 2X and the Optimus 3D are still in Ice Age with Android 2.2 Froyo. The Koreans should really pay a lot more attention to their loyal customers, especially with Samsung climbing up the ladder of smartphone domination two steps at a time.
