New Boss Tries to Take Party Poker Towards Transparency

There have been some pretty big changes at Party Poker in recent times, as their parent company bwin attempts to redirect them at the emerging social Android and iPhone gambling market. One of these changes bought in a new head of poker, Jeffrey Haas, and the top dog has launched a campaign to make the poker site more transparent.

“With my arrival, I can safely say that the ‘run silent, run deep’ approach has been scrapped for good. Just so it’s clear: we are truly sorry for our silence, and will do much better in the future,” commented Haas.

The move has come in the midst of an argument over the segregation of new and old players on the Two Plus Two Forums, a system implemented to protect players from so called “sharks”. Those sharks were still able to access protected player groups, however, so the move failed somewhat.

Party Poker have also recently moved into the mobile casino and sportsbook market, by offering all these services under one roof, and since their changes to a more social platform, the formerly beleaguered poker room has seen player numbers rise once again.

Yet the talk of the company keeping players in the dark has cut deep, resulting in the move to open things up by Haas. With the mobile casino gambling market taking off, the company will be hoping their change of leadership will bring players back through the doors.

Haas further spoke about the problems, commenting: “This speculation has been due to our own silence about the implications of this functionality on our poker room, how it was intended to work, or why we were introducing these tables.”
