Poker Pro Boxing Fan Supports Famous Boxing Program
International poker pro Phil Ivey sponsors leading boxing program in order to support the approaching launch of his new poker training project.
The strong connection between poker and mobile sports betting is long established, so Ivey’s sponsorship is not a surprise. He chose the 17th January episode of the widely commented boxing program “ShoBox: The Next Generation” for his backing.
The event took place at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee and it was TV broadcasted nationally on Showtime at 10:00 pm EST.
Ivey shows his love for boxing by comparing it to poker
The poker pro commented that he is a huge fan of boxing because the game brings excitement and requires mental strength and willingness to win.
He added that both boxing and poker require the player to adjust to the particular moment and quickly implement boxing and poker tricks respectively. Also both call for maximum discipline and psychology skills, so that the opponent can be defeated.
Clete McQuinn, chief operating officer at Ivey Poker commented: “Phil is a big fan of boxing, but more importantly he is a fan of hard work, commitment and dedication. That’s exactly what is needed when you step in the ring.”
He added that the company plans to support different sport events, which will assist the launch of the Ivey League poker training site later in January 2014.
