Mobile gamers were treated to news about the upcoming BlackBerry 9380 and 9790 smartphones and their technical specifications.

Omitting the usual channels, RIM went on to target mobile gaming community and released a blog post full of juicy information about the two upcoming smartphones. Fans of mobile casinos are used to more professional approach from RIM when it comes to announcing their new products.

It wasn’t meant to be this time, probably the company was too busy dealing with massive e-mail and messaging service problems. Regulars of BlackBerry casinos will know what to do with this smaller blog-style announcement providing a small excerpt on the smartphones’ features.

For now, BlackBerry gambling enthusiasts will have to be satisfied with the knowledge that the BlackBerry 9380 will offer a touchscreen similar to the Storm smartphone, namely a 3.2 inch 480×360 pixel screen. BlackBerry 9790 will boast a 2.44 inch, 480×360 pixel display with a full QWERTY keyboard. Both devices will naturally run on the latest BlackBerry OS 7.

RIM has also treated developers to an SDK with built-in simulators for both smartphones. This was the main reason for the blog post announcement about the two phones. BlackBerry mobile gambling community is left hoping for formal announcement during the coming weeks. So far no release date and no pricing policy have been disclosed by RIM.
