RIM Blackberry Bold 9900/9930 + BB7 OS – Mobile Casino Gamer Review
BB7 Mobile OS
RIM Blackberry 7 OS is still a contender that definately should not be written off and the new Bold 9900/9930 smartphones are proof of that.
As it turned out, the rumors that Research In Motion (RIM) has been moving along on a treadmill for the past year are somewhat unfounded.
The company did move forward, and earlier this week released the RIM Blackberry Bold 9900 and the BlackBerry Bold 9930 smartphones.
Perhaps it is still possible that Google’s Android, Apple’s iOS and the Windows Phone 7 will not become the sole global masters of the multibillion-dollar global mobile market. BlackBerry Bold 9900, and the Bold 9930 will be both powered by the recently unveiled BlackBerry 7 OS (BB7).
Unfortunately, the BB7 mobile operating system shares a major shortcoming with the iPhone and iPad – the complete lack of Flash support. Flash is used by the majority of web sites and adds interactivity, animation and movies to otherwise static web pages.
Most online and mobile casino games that do not require a download are created in Flash as well.
On a brighter side, the BB7 OS has faster, smoother graphics rendering and browsing, along with NFC (near field communications that allows the smartphone to act as a credit card or a key) and augmented reality applications through the use of an internal magnetometer.
When augmented reality will become wide spread, mobile casino software will bring a never before seen level of personalization and interactivity to mobile Blackberry casinos.
BB7 also allows voice-enabled searching by the use of innovative voice recognition technology.
The RIM BlackBerry 9900 and the 9930 both have the familiar QWERTY keyboard, along with a capacitive touch display screen. The screen itself is a 640×480 pixel VGA at 2.8 inches.
The smartphones use the powerful 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and have 8GB of internal memory.
The only difference between the two models is the BlackBerry Bold 9930 offers dual-mode CDMA/EV-DO Rev. A/GSM support while the BlackBerry Bold 9900 offers quad-band GSM, tri-band HSPA+ support.
The previous sentence wants to say that in another galaxy, Blackberry mobile gambling would work a bit faster with the 9930 model.
Both BlackBerry 4G smartphones are expected to become available mid to late summer of 2011. No firm release date or pricing information is yet available.

Pretty cool looking phone. The screen could be a bit bigger. The gorilla glass inventor should win the Nobel prize.
