Samsung Galaxy S IV Processing Power in the Spotlight
Galaxy S IV
Only a few months since the premiere of the Samsung Galaxy S III, the rumors on its successor are already popping up.
If you thought Samsung Galaxy S III was the top of the Android casino gambling food chain, think again – Galaxy S IV is already in the works, according to some sources. The first rumors on the next Korean flagship start with its processing power.
The latest Samsung-produced tablet, Nexus 10, is based on the Exynos 5 – a proprietary SoC from Samsung. The chipset comes with 1.7GHz dual-core Cortex-A15 CPU and Mali-604 GPU. Mobile casino fans are perhaps right suggesting the same chipset will make its way into the Samsung Galaxy S IV as well. However, there are some sources saying the Koreans will take it one step further.
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S IV is rumored to come with a brand new Exynos 5450 chipset featuring a quad-core A15 CPU with 2GHz of clockspeed and a better Mali-658 GPU. We’re not even sure that there are mobile casino games, which need so much power right now. Developers, please hurry.
The current top-of-the-tops when it comes to GPUs is the Mali-604, its early benchmarks have shown the world how much richer and juicier the mobile graphics have become. Just imagine what will the 658 (an octa-core CPU, no less) do to Android slots.
Naturally, picky mobile gamers raise the question of power supply. Four CPU cores, eight GPU cores, something has to feed these monsters, no? We sincerely hope, Samsung finds a way around this issue and comes up with a solution for the battery. In any case, even if Exynos 5450 and Mali-658 don’t happen for the Galaxy S IV, we will still be happy to see the 5250 and 604.
