Samsung Galaxy S4 to Hit the UK With the Snapdragon 600 Chipset
Galaxy S4 chipset
Samsung has already declared that the Galaxy S4 will not be shipping to USA, Canada, and Sweden with the Exynos 5 Octa SoC, now UK is also on that list.
Mobile casino gamers in USA, Canada, and Sweden will not be getting the next Samsung flagship – the Galaxy S4 – with the proprietary Exynos 5 Octa chipset, instead receiving a Snapdragon 600 SoC. The British gamers will suffer the same fate it seems.
The Exynos 5 Octa chipset comes with two CPUs: a quad-core 1.6GHz ARM Cortex-A15 for heavy duty, and a quad-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A7 for smaller tasks. There’s also a tri-core PowerVR SGX544MP3 GPU included on the chipset.
The other version of Samsung’s Android casino tamer features a Snapdragon 600 chipset with 1.9GHz quad-core Krait 300 CPU and Adreno 320 GPU – a combination that has already beaten any other smartphone during various tests. However, the four ARM Cortex-A15 should still perform better than the Snapdragon configuration.
To further confuse mobile casino games fans, the Samsung Galaxy S4 with Snapdragon 600 SoC is said to feature the LTE connectivity, while the Exynos 5 Octa one will not. It seems to be appropriate judging by the market list, since USA, Canada, and the UK all have strong LTE coverage.
In any case, let’s wait until the smartphones are actually release before we draw any conclusions on what chipset is better, and if it’s worth sacrificing power for the LTE connectivity.
