Now this is what you call a blackjack bonus, especially for the ladies attending Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania on Sunday. Women who love the “Sex and the City” series and blackjack got to double down on the thrill of new table gaming action at Parx when Chris Noth, who played heroine Carrie Bradshaw’s on-again/off-again love interest Mr. Big on the hit HBO show, threw out the ceremonial first dice at the casino.

Noth began his public appearance and participation in the grand opening ceremonies at about 6:10 p.m., though the blackjack, roulette and other table games had actually opened for business at 6:00 a.m. that morning. Noth cut a ceremonial ribbon, checked out Parx’ shiny new Sex and the City slot machines and threw the bones at a craps table. He was out of the building in 30 minutes.

The crowd at the time of Noth’s appearance was reported as literally 95% female, a proportion which evened out a bit soon after he left. Nonetheless, many Sex and the City aficionados in Pennsylvania will never be the same.

The state of Pennsylvania is allowing its licensed land-based casinos to provide table gaming as of this month. Parx Casino in Bensalem opened one of the largest table-gaming areas in the state yet, with 57 table games featuring blackjack, blackjack variations, roulette, three-card poker, American-style baccarat and craps. In the autumn, Parx plans to add a complete poker room with 30 tables.
