Most of the rumors about the Sony Xperia SP are confirmed as the Japanese giant unveils the device in front of the press.
The Sony press event in Moscow is over, and we now know all information about the Xperia SP mid-range mobile casino tool. As predicted, the device is powered by the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and sports a 4.6 inch Bravia Engine 2 LCD screen with 720p resolution.
Inside the new Android casino tamer is the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960Pro chipset with a 1.7GHz dual-core Krait CPU. Other features include an Adreno 320 GPU, 8GB of internal space with built-in microSD card for further extension, 8MP snapper with 1080p video capabilities, and VGA front unit.
In terms of connectivity, the Sony Xperia SP offers all the usual refinements such as Bluetooth, GPS/GLONASS, Wi-Fi, NFC, LTE, and even an MHL-powered microUSB. The smartphone is relatively light at 155g and is made from plastic with an aluminum frame. In line with rumors, there’s a illuminated strip, notifying owners on calls, text, and so on.
With a 2,370mAh battery, the Xperia SP will be able to provide lengthy mobile casino games sessions. The smartphone will be available in black, red, and white starting with Q2, 2013. Pricing policy is yet to be revealed.
Another device, announced at Sony’s Moscow event, was the Xperia L, which is a smaller smartphone with somewhat weaker specifications.
