Steve Jobs

When the grim reaper comes a knocking, whether it’s a king or a pauper, we all must answer that knock. The great majority of us will disappear from the memory of the living soon after our siblings, parent, children, spouse, and close friends pass away.

A tiny minority will become footnotes in history books, or a reference in academia. It is unfortunate that those who become truly immortal in our collective memory usually left rivers of blood in their path.

According to casino gambling news, Steve Jobs passed away on October 5, 2011 at 56 years of age of pancreatic cancer. Unlike Julius Caesar who died at 55, Jobs will never become an immortal name.

Yet unlike Caesar he conquered the world with his ideas without loss of life, and instead of mountains of corpses there are now millions of women and men who provide for themselves and their families as a result of Steve Jobs contribution to mankind.

Had he invaded Seattle with an army of millions of Silicon Valley warriors, laid siege to Microsoft headquarters, and led Bill Gates behind his electric powered car in chains during his triumph, his chances would have improved.

Spiritualism, LSD and Visions of the Future

That was not in Steve Jobs character, and against his lifelong quest for mind expansion, enlightenment, meditation and futurism.

Steve Jobs credits his trip to India in the early 1970s with his outlook and amazing abilities to almost know just what it is that people around the world would really need to change their lives for the better.

While in India Jobs used the drug LSD, currently an illegal psychoactive chemical, and lists the LSD experience as “one of the two or three most important things I’ve done in my life.”

That’s quite a statement coming from a man whose net worth hovered around 8 billion dollars, and who is credited for popularizing the personal computer, iPhone and iPad.

Apple Gamble and Birth of Mac

In 1976, Steve Jobs along with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne co-founded Apple Steve Jobs persuaded Wozniak who was a genius at microchips and computer assembly to create the personal computer.

At the time other companies were in the game but nothing has been successful yet since consumers did not quite understand what the benefit of computer ownership is.

Under Steve Jobs direction the Apple II was the first commercially successful personal computer and in 1984 the introduction and marketing of the Macintosh made consumers aware of the benefit of computer ownership.

At the time IBM completely dominated the market, yet just a few short years later IBM was nothing but a distant memory.

The introduction of the Apple Macintosh also energized thousands of inventors, venture capitalists, software developers, semiconductor manufacturers, and spawned tens of thousands of businesses and created tens of millions of jobs that may not have existed without Jobs.

Pixar Gamble to Biggest Disney Shareholder

After being pushed out of Apple due to his management style Steve Jobs was involved in another successful computer venture which was eventually purchased by Apple as well as buying a small animation company which became Pixar.

The company’s released such hits as Toy Story and countless of other animated films which pushed the genre further while creating a demand for improvements in technology and faster and smaller processors. Pixar was eventually acquired by Disney, which made Steve Jobs its biggest shareholder, owning 7% of all Disney stock.

iPhone Gamble

On June 29, 2007, Apple entered the cellular phone business with the introduction of the iPhone, a multi-touch display cell phone, which also included the features of an iPod and, with its own mobile browser, revolutionized the mobile browsing scene. The next day the iPhone casinos industry was born, yet again demonstrating why Steve Jobs was a true genius – each of his inventions spawned entire industries, feeder industries creating jobs and wealth.

While stimulating innovation, Jobs considered the delivery of working products on time just as important as innovation and attractive design. The mobile casino gambling industry, worth an estimated 4 billion dollars initially was created exclusively for iPhone owners.

Ipad Gamble

The iPad marked the beginning of the tablet race with Apple way ahead thanks to Steve Jobs uncanny ability to spot a trend and a consumer demand for a product.

Just a few years later, nearly every major player in the mobile industry have created their version of the tablet, yet again creating thousands of jobs that otherwise would not have existed. iPad Casinos which are multiplying faster than after a summer rain can thank Steve Jobs, along with the gamers and thousands of others involved in this industry.

The iPad portable tablet computer, light at 1.5, yet with the ability to browse the internet, read iBooks, and shop at the Apple iStore created an entire industry of computer developers who no longer needed venture capital to market their products directly to the consumer.

For the first time in history of computers it was possible for a programmer to create a useful game or app, list it with the iStore and become a millionaire overnight.

The world lost a great man who created or was indirectly responsible for the creation of thousands of products we see today and for the general push of mankind into the age of personal electronics. Let us hope that he will be remembered as a man who created jobs for millions of people throughout the world while making life easier, more pleasant, more fun and all thanks to one person – Steve Jobs.

RIP.
