Louisiana man held on bond after turning himself in for armed robbery, faces long prison sentence.

A man sought in connection to a December casino robbery in Thibodeaux, Louisiana turned himself in Monday. 25-year-old Delric Hadley appeared willingly at the Lafourche Parish jail after learning a warrant had been issued for his arrest. Rather than attempt to get rich utilizing casino strategy, it appears Hadley tried to win big by using blunt force.

Detectives responded to a call about an armed robbery at the Jungle Casino in Thibodeaux on December 13th. The suspect fled the scene after unsuccessfully attempting to enter the casino booth.

Video footage showed a man fleeing the casino and driving off in a black pickup truck. The truck had been reported stolen earlier that evening. Authorities reported that the suspect had been armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

Case against Hadley built over several weeks

A warrant for Hadley’s arrest was not issued until last week. He had been immediately identified as a suspect, but evidence had to be gathered before police could obtain a warrant from a local court. He immediately turned himself in after learning of his status as the prime suspect.

Hadley has been charged with one count of armed robbery, as well as an outstanding warrant for contempt of court. He is being held on $150,050 bond. Armed robbery is not a smart strategy in the state of Louisiana. If convicted Hadley will face a long prison sentence.
