Vandeven and Miles Stay Top of Card Player Poker Tour
Harvey Vandeven and Timothy Miles still top the Card Player Poker Tour Season II leaderboard after some superb poker action.
Vandeven and Miles chopped for even money, picking up $76,598 a piece in the bestbet Jacksonville $1,500 no-limit hold’em $300,000 guarantee main event in August 2013 to start Season II.
McNulty, the king of casino strategy, picked up the championship title and upwards of $68,000 when he won the Palm Beach Kennel Club $1,100 no-limit hold’em $150,000 guarantee main event in December. Four cashes also put McNulty in a three-way tie for most cashes on the season with Ravindra Madala and Mitchell Smith.
May the force be with them
With a second stop coming up in Jacksonville, McNulty will have a shot at overtaking the leaders as he is only $2,000 below them. Both Vandeven and Miles will also have the opportunity to add to their scores when the bestbet tournament series begins May 1. If the current play has been anything to go by, the atmosphere can only continue to be even more electric. That’s the difference between play in casino and online.
Rick Swain, the third place main event finisher from bestbet was knocked out of that spot by Luke Brereton, who finished second to McNulty for $42,142 at Palm Beach Kennel Club. Third place finisher Evan Teitelbaum took the sixth spot and Jerry Willis, moved down. Fourth place main event finisher Sean Winter slid into the top ten with a $22,560 cash.
