Win Systems Provides WIGOS to Codere

Under pressure from high taxation and competition from mobile casino gambling the Spanish firm Codere to introduce WIGOS to its casinos in Mexico

Codere brings in WIGOS to manage its gaming machines in Mexico.

In what it calls major casino gambling news and the largest migration of content management systems in history, Win Systems will provide its WIGOS casino management software to all 82 of Codere’s casinos operating in Mexico. The system is designed to streamline and coordinate casino management across geographic space by proving fast and convenient information and software updates that don’t interfere with gameplay.

The expansion means that WIGOS will now connect over 40,000 gaming machines in 150 casinos worldwide. The Spain-based Codere hopes that the move will improve the efficiency of its operations.

Codere in need of a jumpstart

Codere filed for temporary protection from creditors earlier this year after a woeful 2013 made it unable to make upcoming debt payments. It has suffered from high taxes in Spain and competition from online and mobile casino gambling platforms. It is serious need of both cost-cutting strategies and improvements in the services it provides.

Bringing WIGOS into its crucial operations in Mexico could help on both counts. Said Codere’s Mexican director of technology Carlos Sanz: “WIGOS System is a platform on which we hope to consolidate our operations in Mexico, due to the opportunities it offers in terms of the unification and business development functionality at national level.”
