WP8 goes official

Microsoft officially presented the Windows Phone 8 OS, confirming most of the rumors about the newest OS.

Joe Belfiore of Microsoft has officially presented the Windows Phone 8 OS to the world and mobile casino games fans in particular. The new OS, naturally, extends the features of WP7 and also brings loads of new functions.

The new lockscreen displays notifications from Facebook and photos, but can also include information from third-party apps too. 46 out of the top 50 apps on other platforms are making their way to the WP8, but even more is coming in the near future. Windows mobile casinos will also get an extended coverage and better functionality.

The WP8 will also bring Windows casino enthusiasts a new mobile data managing and saving feature – Data Sense. It will compress websites when they are opened in the browser and will keep track of apps and data used. The new feature will also assist in finding closes Wi-Fi hotspots in case the user’s data plan is reaching its limit.

After Joe Belfiore was done talking about the WP8 features, Steve Ballmer took the stage and showed Nokia, HTC, and Samsung WP8 running flagships. The new OS bearing devices should hit American carriers Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T by Thanksgiving.

Lumia 810 and HTC 8X are expected to arrive on the T-Mobile shelves a bit earlier – just a couple of weeks’ time. AT&T is scheduled to start selling the Nokia Lumia 920, 820 and HTC 8X also in November.

As for Europe, mobile gamers on the Old Continent will be able to lay their hands on the Windows Phone 8 powered devices as soon as this weekend, that was really unexpected, thank you very much.
